There is no reason why you can’t jump back in to work after a career break. If you are ready to start looking for a new job? Here are our top tips.
What is your situation?
Before you start searching for job, what were your reasons for leaving work and are you now ready to jump back in. Employers will ask about your career break, so be prepared to answer in an honest and appropriate manner.
Get up to date on any updates or changes to your previous or desired job sector and research as much as you can as it will come in handy when you are at an interview. Firstly, try signing up to email newsletter in your industry to get all up to date information as it happens. Why not try and volunteer? Getting back in to a working routine will help you make the transition back in to work.
Does your CV need some work?
If you are thinking of getting back in to work, it is now a good time to start work on your CV. Ensure you include your career break, reasons for this break and anything you achieved during this time that may be of note.
